So who am I and why do I do what I do?

Hey, I’m Caroline, marketing strategist and coach.

I’m the straight-talking marketing coach for small businesses who have a big ambition. It’s my passion to help make businesses stand out and get more clients, more money and get recognised as someone significant to pay attention to.

I have a business degree and a post-graduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Most of my 15+ year career was spent working in house for varying industries including manufacturing, training, SaaS, FinTech, Professional services, Property and construction and retail, working with them to cut through the BS and create a customer-led approach to reaching their goals and growing their business.

I loved the challenge of these roles and helping them achieve the success they deserved through clear marketing goals and tactics. But it’s so much more rewarding working with small businesses. Showing you how best-practice marketing principles can apply to you, no matter what size your business is. 

The basic principles I live and breathe have followed me through my carry, even when they can get a bit lost in the today’s digital world.

  1. Get clear on what you do.
  2. Decide who you want to help.
  3. Work out how to get inside their heads.
  4. Be willing and able to adjust when you need to
  5. Test, learn and adjust.
  6. Don’t give up!

But it’s easier said than done sometimes, especially when you feel like you are doing it alone, I know, I’ve been there!

After 15 years as a marketing manager for varying companies, I was losing my passion for something I really loved. Marketing had lost its way, full of jargon and BS promising the ‘quickest’ way to win more clients.  This wasn’t the life or career I wanted, so at the end of 2019, I made the decision to something that truly made me happy and allowed me to do the kind of work I love and bring my passion and enthusiasm to like-minded businesses, and that is how VisionUp was born.

I now want to share all my knowledge and experience with you to help you ‘VisionUp’ and build a business you love and is in absolute alignment with who you are.

What can I do for you?

Visualise – the barriers you need to overcome and working with you to see new opportunities available to grow your business. This is achieved through a mix of training, workshops and coaching to help see things more clearly and be inspired to take things to the next level.

Investigate – The best routes to new markets and your ideal customers through market research and analysis. Review of your current marketing to see what works and what needs some tweaking. Finally, we will identify what you should be doing in your marketing.

Strategies – Working withyou to develop long and short-term plans to help you find your ideal route to your ideal customer and rocket your growth.

Implementation – Once we are clear on your marketing strategy, I can drive the creative direction and execution of your new marketing strategy and measure your new marketing strategy’s results. Or if you plan to do this yourself, be on hand to coach and mentor you to ensure you stay on track with a consistent and engaging flow of marketing activity so your business can continue to soar to its potential.

Ongoing support – Whether it is a quick call to check in or a full-on planning or training day, we are here for you as long as you need me.

New opportunities – Keeping up to date with the best tactics to keep you marketing fresh and help you grow your customers and revenue.

My approach

When it comes to marketing, many companies focus purely on the tactics – building a new website, engaging in social media or deploying an email campaign. At VisionUp, I believe the word ‘why’ is important when it comes to developing your business. “Why” are you running a seminar? “Why” do you want to advertise? Or “Why” do you send out a newsletter.

I will question things and peel back the layers of your organisation so we can get to the bottom of what it is you have to offer and to who and why.

Yes, the look and design of your marketing is important, but the solid foundation and strategy must come first. This will help you develop your message and branding to stand out from the crowd and get inside your target client’s head. It will guide the decision on which tactics work best to achieve your business goals. It will give you direction and help you stay focused amongst all the tempting marketing options available to you.
